Here’s a collection of few inspirational poems that will give you positive feeling as you read through it:

Hope looks for the good in people instead of harping on the worst in them.
Hope opens doors where despair closes them.
Hope discovers what can be done instead of grumbling about what cannot be done.
Hope draws its power from a deep trust in God and the basic goodness of mankind.
Hope "lights a candle" instead of "cursing the darkness."
Hope regards problems, small or large, as opportunities.
Hope cherishes no illusions, nor does it yield to cynicism.

Trust Him when dark doubts assail thee
Trust Him when thy strength is small,
Trust Him when to simply trust Him
Seems the hardest thing of all
Trust Him, He is ever faithful;
Trust Him for his will is best;
Trust Him, for the heart of Jesus
Is the only place of rest.
Trust Him, then, through doubts and sunshine
All thy cares upon Him cast,
Till the storm of life is over
And the trusting days are past.

As children bring their broken toys
With tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God
Because He was my friend.
But then instead of leaving Him
In peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help
With ways that were my own.
At last I snatched them back and cried,
"How could you be so slow"
"My child," He said, "What could I do?
You never did let go."

There is pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society where non intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar,
I love not man the less, but nature more.
~~Lord Byron (Childe Harold's Pilgrimage)

The love of God surrounds us
Like the air we breathe around us --
As near as a heartbeat,
As close as a prayer,
And whenever we need Him
He'll always be there.

High blood pressure or hypertension is one of the biggest medical challenges we face in this century. Hypertension is called "the silent killer" because it damages many organs without ever causing pain, and the longer the condition exists, the greater the damage and the risk of cardiac disease. There are two types of hypertension: primary, or essential, hypertension and secondary hypertension. Secondary hypertension, which accounts for only 10 to 15 percent of all cases, is precipitated by an identifiable cause, such as kidney disease or a tumor. In these cases, once the cause is treated, the pressure returns to normal. The main concern here is the primary hypertension, which has no known or specific cause.

As Precious As You... A gentle reminder for your near and dear ones.

Some natural treatments for Hypertension:
  • If you are taking medication for hypertension, do not discontinue. Consult your physician, adopt the changes recommended here, and get a pressure reading two to three months later to see if your pressure has lowered and if you can reduce your medication.
  • If you are overweight, lose weight. This change alone can sometimes lower your pressure into the normal range. Lower your fat intake.
  • Adopt as many relevant features of a Vegetarian diet as possible including more polyunsaturated fat, fiber, vitamin C, vitamin E, magnesium, calcium, and potassium.
  • Adopt a high fiber diet. Try oat bran cereal, or some other high-fiber cereal, for breakfast. Increase your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables, and whole grain cereals, breads, and pastas. Do not take fiber supplements in connection with hypertension.
  • If you are addicted to alcohol, stop immediately. If you smoke, get rid of it in no time. Alcohol and smoke are the two biggest supporters of hypertension, so get rid of these habits immediately.
  • Adopt an exercise program. Exercise for a half hour three to four times weekly. A brisk walk is excellent. Adopt a stress control program.
Here’s something very interesting I have found on the net about hypertension. Have a look at it!

Procrastination, the long-winded word has a lot to trip you up with. It means to put off, or defer an action till another day in time. Instead of tackling first things first, you prefer to squander time just because you are in no mood to work. You may prefer to take on inconsequential tasks like answering mail, making telephone calls and justify this by calling it 'priority'. At the end of the day, major tasks suffer as a result and you are in the 'last minute rut' again.

Go For It ! An inspiring message for all your near and dear ones.

Here are some ways to fight back Procrastination:

  • Some tasks or projects or any job which would seem the toughest of all, those suffering from procrastination tends to laid back and keep it aside to accomplish later on. This is the first problem which needs to be destroyed at the very first step of your fight back. No matter, how much tough the job, do it first. Take your time and do the job successfully. As the feel good factor takes effect, your confidence levels will also reach a new high.
  • One effective way to prioritize your work is to draw up a checklist where you list the jobs in their order of priority. Make sure you keep it in a handy place so that you can update it on a daily basis. Allot more time for the major jobs and marginalize the minor ones.
  • If you fail at the very first attempt of a task, there might be a feeling of disappointment and loss at that moment. You have to fight it out otherwise you will lose your confidence which will lead you to procrastination. If you have to improve and enhance your skills to equip you, now's the time to do it. Take time to get over the loss and this will make you regain the process faster.
  • A very tough job might loom impossible for you and if you can’t take a note of your confidence level. Instead of making the situation more panicky, divide one tough job into small manageable tasks. If it means you have to delegate some work to your co-worker or subordinate, then do so.
  • Strive towards Perfection and don't ever compromise on quality. There's no use doing a hotchpotch, rushed up job of it. So make sure you deliver top quality work, even if you have to work overtime towards this.
  • Don't try and blame circumstances or people for your inefficiency. Stop the 'ifs' and 'if onlys' and get on with the job and you'll be surprised at the work you are actually capable of.
  • Analyze your performance at the end of the day and try to plug those leaks. There may have been ways you could have done a better job. Try and implement improvements the next time around.

Never Put Off Till Tomorrow... A fun advice for your friends/ family/ acquaintances.

Depression involves sadness, pessimism, a preoccupation with personal problems, and perhaps feeling sorry for one's self, anguish, crying, and hopelessness. Depressed people often lose interest in many activities and social contacts because of loss of pleasure in and enthusiasm for their usual activities. They may become apathetic or socially withdrawn. Low energy, chronic tiredness, excessive sleeping, and insomnia are common. Other possible symptoms of depression include poor appetite, heavy eating, weight loss or gain, feelings of inadequacy or worthlessness, anxiety, regrets, decreased productivity, poor concentration, or recurrent thoughts of death or suicide. Four out of five cases of severe depression clear up without treatment within six to nine months, but half of the people with severe depression experience it again later.

Flame Of Hope... May the flame of hope light up your friend's/ loved one's heart.

Top eight ways to overcome Depression are as follows:

  • There are a number of ways to overcome depression and among them the most effective way is to control our thoughts and feelings. With enough work and effort, you can change habitual thoughts and feelings. Avoid taking sleeping pills and stuffs like that to reduce your depression. That’s not the actual way; instead it will increase your health problems to a great extent. Change your physician if you think he or she is prescribing you any contraceptive pills, sleeping pills, anti-infection drugs etc.
  • Perhaps one of the most common reasons for depression is a lack of enough interests and activities. A small number of them tend to become routine and often boring. Therefore, to reduce depression it is essential to keep yourself engaged in activities that interest you most. They give satisfaction, help make you feel good about yourself, and keep your mind off problems and negative thoughts and emotions. Socializing is another helpful activity that will keep your depression miles apart from you. Grow more hobbies as per your liking and enjoy them as far as possible.
  • Negative thinking habits play a very important role in depression. Research shows depressed people tend to minimize their accomplishments, talents, and qualities. They tend to see themselves as inferior and incompetent, despite being comparable to other people in qualities and skills. In this case, you should always keep a positive attitude in everything you do. Highlight all your positive aspects and in case you fail in any stance, always try to see the brighter side of your loss. That will help you immensely from never getting depressed about your achievements or failures. Take each failure as the stepping stone of an upcoming success.
  • Get to work on your personal problems. Work on only one or two simple things at a time, breaking large or complex problems into goals you can easily accomplish. Use rewards, friends, family, and support groups. Ask yourself about the problem time and again and try getting a right solution for it with the help of proper interactions. Here again, you need to be selective as wrong person would always give you wrong ideas, so you must make the right choice of people in conferring your thoughts.
  • Tackle your bad habit of blaming circumstances and situations for your depression. Unless and until you would recognize your fault for the consequence, you would never ne able to rectify it. Use assertiveness skills, good problem-solving skills, or more positive thinking the next time a similar situation arises.
  • Develop friendships and relationships. Good social skills and a good network of friendships ranging from casual to intimate ones help prevent depression after life stresses and speeds recovery from depression. An appreciative, complimentary, supportive marital relationship can protect you from depression despite challenging life stresses, and as noted previously, marital problems often lead to depression.
  • To fight depression or avoid the same, the most important thing required is a proper balance between your pleasure and work. A few depressed and overwhelmed people need to quit pushing themselves so hard, relax more, and eliminate some work activities, but most depressed people need more interests and activities. Idle time often leads to negative thinking and depression. Share your activities with your friends or other associates and try to enjoy them to the fullest.
  • Stop seeking consolation with complaints, sighs, sad looks, and crying. Work to make your social interactions more positive by showing warmth toward other people, taking an interest in them, developing and sharing interests and activities, etc. If you have a tendency to behave abnormally at the time of your depression ask your loved ones to spend more time in encouraging you than listening to giving vent to what you say. Instead, they can help you out to deal with your problems independently which would make you stronger and less prone to depressions.

Cheer Up... Send a ray of brightness to your loved one and cheer them up.

The issue of cancer prevention gets confusing — sometimes what's recommended in one report is advised against in another. What you can be sure of when it comes to cancer prevention is that making small changes to your everyday life might help reduce your chances of getting cancer.

Here are few tips on how you can prevent this harmful disease – Cancer:

  • Avoid taking tobaccos. This is one of the major causes of cancer, especially lung cancer. In the United States, cigarette smoking is responsible for about 90 percent of all cases of lung cancer — the leading cause of cancer death in both men and women. Passive smokers are not less affected by the harmful gas of tobaccos and so it’s advisable to stay away as far as possible from the smokers.
  • Healthy food is another best option which will drive you miles away from cancer. About 30 percent of cancers are related to issues of nutrition, including obesity. So, a healthy diet with proper nutrients will reduce the risk of getting affected to this perilous disease. Try eating a variety of healthy foods.
  • Stay active and maintain a healthy weight. Exercising regularly may play a major role in cancer prevention. Physical activity can help you avoid obesity by controlling your weight. Physical activity on its own may also lower your risk of other types of cancer, including breast cancer and colon cancer. Your exercise sessions can include such low-key activities as brisk walking, raking the yard or even ballroom dancing.
  • Skin cancer is one of the most common kinds of cancer — and one of the most preventable. Although repeated exposure to X-rays or contact with certain chemicals can play a role, sun exposure is by far the most common cause of skin cancer. Therefore, cover yourself properly before actually stepping into the sunrays. Use sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 and try wearing hats and full-sleeved light colored clothes while going out in the day time.
  • Certain cancers are associated with viral infections that can be prevented with immunizations. Hepatitis B can increase your risk of developing liver cancer. HPV is a sexually transmitted virus that can lead to cervical cancer. So it’s advisable for you to consult your doctor before taking these vaccinations.
  • Avoid risky behaviors that may lead to the some major cancer infections. Therefore, always take safe precautions before committing any sexual act as transmission of any kind of body fluid carries the maximum amount of risk factors of cancer.
  • Get yourself screened from time to time. This might not reduce the treatment process of cancer but can make it easier as it helps the cancer infections get noticed at an early stage. Screening should include your skin, mouth, colon and rectum. Be aware of changes in your body — this may help you detect cancer early, increasing your chances of successful treatment. If you notice any changes, see your doctor immediately.

While having your favorite juices, check the calorie content and then have. Alcohol is a strict no-no in this therapy.
  • Follow a diet that is high is fruits and vegetables. They are packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that help strengthen your immune system. Vitamins A, C and E and the mineral selenium are potent cancer fighters. Have more of broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts and cauliflower. Tomato product contains high vitamin C which ranges from watermelons, red pepper, pink grape fruit, carrots and spinach. Garlic and onions are a must in this therapy. Berries are a wonderful nutrition product which you can always enjoy after meal as desserts.
  • High-fiber diet reduces the chances of cancer to a great extent. Countries that cultivate high-fiber foods are one the safest hands. Fibrous foods such as fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds and whole grains such as oats and barley are a wonderful fighter against cancer.

Five home remedies to treat Alcoholism:

  • First and foremost, you have to give your addiction a clean break. Think or rather read about all the negative aspects about alcoholism and implant them in your mind that you have to get rid of this habit in order to gain a healthy and longer life. The moment you will start believing that you have to get rid of it, the task will be easier for you as you will have the zeal to fight against the stigma.
  • Eat apples at regular intervals as it reduces the craving for alcohol and it also help to clear the toxins from the system. You should drink a half glass of water and in which four or five dates have been rubbed together. This remedy, you should do it twice daily for better result. Dates are considered quite advantageous to treat alcoholism.
  • An optimum diet of fundamental nutrients consisting of wholegrain cereals, nuts, seeds and sprouts, fresh fruits, and vegetables is perfect to cure the damages caused by Alcoholism. The best substitute drink for alcohol is a glass of fresh fruit juice. The patient should drink juices and eat candy or other snacks if he feels a craving for a stimulant. All refined foods such as sugar, white rice, macaroni products, strong condiments, white flour, and meat should be avoided.
  • During the first ten days of the 'juice fast' which is the very first step in the rehabilitation process of Alcoholism, a warm-water enema should be taken everyday to cleanse the bowels. Plenty of rest and outdoor physical exercises are a basic necessity as it will keep the patient active and fresh. Smoking must be avoided strictly as it increases the desire for alcohol.
  • Never lie flat on your back as it might cause heartburn by the acid in your stomach moving upward to your esophagus. You can try to eat a bowl of rice pudding made with milk, because it helps to absorb stomach acid, gives you a fresh feeling and a positive urge to consume a proper diet.

Addiction of bad habits harms all kinds of people irrespective of age, race and economic conditions. Addiction to bad habits causes family problems, job loss, poor job performance, public health risks, increased risks of infectious diseases and participation in crime as victims and perpetrators. Alcoholism is one such appalling bad habit which annihilates a human from within and corrupts his liver. Habits and urges go hand in hand. Almost every system in the body can be negatively affected by alcohol.

Alcohol has a biphasic effect on the body, which is to say that its effects change over time. Initially, alcohol generally produces feelings of relaxation and cheerfulness, but further consumption can lead to blurred vision and coordination problems. Cell membranes are highly permeable to alcohol, so once alcohol is in the bloodstream it can diffuse into nearly every biological tissue of the body. After excessive drinking, unconsciousness can occur and extreme levels of consumption can lead to alcohol poisoning and death (a concentration in the blood stream of 0.55% will kill half of those affected).

Boozing Is Not Cool ! A cool card to reach out to all your loved ones with this anti- alcoholism message.

Depression, liver cirrhosis, heart failure and damage to the brain and nervous systems are the major diseases caused by alcohol that ruins one’s life and takes him to the path of death. It reduces one’s lifeline just as smoking does, the only difference is…smoking affects lungs first and alcohol affects liver and heart more than anything.

Mental health problems are common with alcoholism. Each can lead to or reinforce the other. Depression is a common cause of alcoholism as the depressed person seeks a way out of their problems or a relief from insomnia. Unfortunately, alcohol is itself a depressant, so the problem is only compounded. Anxiety can be temporarily relieved by alcohol, but this may lead to repeated intake and dependence. Women, who abuse alcohol, or even occasionally drink to excess, face greater risks to their health than their male counterparts. Even modest amounts of alcohol consumption can cause blood pressure to increase, especially in older adults, according to two recent studies conducted in Japan. Some experts say moderate drinking during pregnancy is okay, but there are others who believe taking even one drink is like playing Russian Roulette with your baby's health.

You Are Precious ! A cute way to tell your friend/ loved one to say 'no' to alcohol.

Smoking is an important risk factor for the three diseases that cause most deaths in Australia: heart disease, stroke and lung cancer. It is responsible for around 80% of all lung cancer deaths and 20% of all cancer deaths. Smoking has also been linked to cancers of the mouth, bladder, kidney, stomach and cervix, among others. Smokers are also at increased risk of having reduced lung function from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Using tobacco has been linked to a variety of other conditions, such as diabetes, peptic ulcers, some vision problems, and back pain. Smoking in pregnancy can lead to miscarriage, stillbirth or premature birth.

There are some hard core facts about smoking that would help you understand the health issues caused by smoking in detail:

  • Smoking is the number one cause of vascular illness (but diet may soon overtake it)
  • Smoking is the number one cause of male impotence (because of circulatory impairment)
  • Smoking is the number one cause of premature baldness (because of circulatory impairment)
  • "Smoker's Face" is a recognizable and distinct side effect of smoking. It's not pretty.
  • The average cigarette spends only a fraction of its time being "smoked." It sits in an ashtray most of its lit life, spewing forth its 500+ noxious chemicals on innocent bystanders.
  • Everyone pays extra healthcare costs because of smoking. It's not a "personal choice," because everyone else pays for it. To the tune of several billion dollars a year.
  • People who smoke consistently score lower on mental aptitude tests, on average, than people who don't smoke. There was debate about cause and effect on this, until studies done on people who had stopped smoking--their mental acuity improved. This is due to an increase of oxygen to the brain, combined with a corresponding decrease in carbon monoxide.
  • Non-smokers can usually smell a smoker when the smoker walks into the room, even if the smoker has not smoked for quite some time. The stench resides in the soft tissues for days and does not simply wash out.
  • Smoking in a car leaves a residue on the inner glass. This residue increases glare and decreases visibility.
  • Smoking in a home or office leaves a tar substrate in the ductwork, turning the building into a toxic waste zone. Bacteria and fungal counts in buildings contaminated this way can easily reach 10,000 times higher than buildings not so contaminated.

I Care... Ask your dear one to quit the smoke with this reality bite.

Smoking is a greater cause of death and disability than any single disease, says the World Health Organization. According to their figures, it is responsible for approximately five million deaths worldwide every year. Tobacco smoking is a known or probable cause of approximately 25 diseases, and even the WHO says that its impact on world health is not fully assessed.

Once addicted bad habits takes you to the path of loss. We think certain addictions trim down our worries but to be honest it does the opposite. Smoking is the most widespread yet an injurious bad habit. This is one of the cheapest drugs and is puffed by most people. The urge of this bad habit smoking passes in every 5 minutes. There are many different ways to get rid of this ill-habit which causes major health weaknesses such as lung problems, asthma, cancer, tuberculosis and many more. The doctors have demonstrated the fact quite evidently that each cigarette lessens down 14 seconds of your life. So you can imagine smoking puts your life at stake if absorbed religiously.

Some of the most effective ways that will undoubtedly help you in combating this bad habit of smoking are being described as follows. Drink as much glasses of water as you can when that bad habit of smoking will whack you. Besides, dodge yourself from having any of those drinks that you associated with this bad habit. Go in for some free hand exercise which will rejuvenate you and will also trim down your stress, have some quality fun time with your mates and family so that you don’t plunge on smoking and most notably share your thoughts with your loved ones if there is any worldly tensions or fears instead of indulging yourself into such a terrifying bad habit. Meditation also helps you immensely to quit the bad habit of smoking as in when you take one minute vacation by practicing deep breathing, it kills your urge of involving into this bad habit.

Zyban, a drug that was intended as an antidepressant is widely used now a day in most stop smoking programs. It is effective and is capable to restrict your cravings for nicotine. Compared with traditional therapies it was proved to be a great success. Studies have proved 30% success rate after a year, among people who used Zyban alone compared to 15% among those who chose nicotine replacement. These percentages can be improved even more by trying a combination of both.

Quitting is not an easy undertaking. It requires effort, determination and commitment.

  • Accept the fact that you need to quit. Do not deny the adverse health effects that you are unnecessarily putting yourself (and those around you) through.
  • Be prepared for anxious and resistant feelings. Since nicotine is habit-forming, just thinking about quitting may make you feel anxious – this is quite common. Give yourself a specified amount of time to identify and move beyond these feelings.
  • Take quitting one day at a time, even one minute at a time or whatever you need to succeed and find support!
  • Develop a quit plan that works best for your needs. See Help guide’s references and resources for sample plans provided by many prominent organizations and government agencies.
  • Talk to your doctor or health professional to help develop a plan.
  • Enlist the help of family and friends by telling them about your plans.
  • Ask others who have quit how they handled withdrawal symptoms – both psychological and physical.
  • Learn new behaviors. If you’ve tried quitting before, identify what did and didn’t work for you. Build on your strengths and discover new techniques.

Physical inactivity is a major risk factor for developing coronary artery disease and other risk factors among which obesity is a major disease and is quite infectious among all age brackets. A little ignorance towards health might lead to obesity. A fitness regimen is a basic necessity apart from a balanced diet to fight obesity. Physical activities help one to burn out the extra fat that is gained through improper lifestyle and is a must for those who suffer from obesity or is about to get affected. Obesity, if not treated at the right time might affect one’s psychology which in turn would cause various complexes in mind.

Regular exercise helps to keep your weight down. It also helps to relieve stress and makes you feel good. If you are busy, try to squeeze in some activities into your routine. You can start by:

  • Getting off a bus-stop earlier and walking the remaining distance
  • Walking up the stairs instead of taking the lift
  • Walking to a place further away for lunch and back to office instead of taking the bus or MRT
  • Park further away and walk to your destination
  • Start on an aerobic exercise program.

Or you can exercise at a moderate intensity (brisk walking, cycling, yoga, line dancing, and swimming) for 30 minutes at least five times or more a week. Activities such as soccer and basketball that include continuous running are the best enemies of obesity.

Even moderate-intensity activities, when performed daily, can have some long-term health benefits. They help lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Here are some examples:

  • Walking for pleasure, gardening and yard work
  • Housework, dancing and prescribed home exercise
  • Recreational activities such as tennis, racquetball, soccer, basketball and touch football.

The first approach to treat obesity is and must remain diet. A proper and balanced diet plays the key role in treating obesity as well as doesn’t affect your health. Diet doesn’t always mean eating less and exercising. That would lessen down your fat undoubtedly but at the same time will make you weaker to even take any kind of stress. Therefore, it’s advisable to maintain a balanced diet that is prescribed to treat obesity and then go in for the exercises to reduce the overweight.

Here is a diet regime following which will unquestionably treat your obesity with gentleness:
  • Eat more high-fiber food like fruits, vegetables, whole meal bread, cereals, peas and beans.
  • Avoid food high in sugar like biscuits, chocolate, rich cakes, sweet pastries and soft drinks.
  • Steam, grill, bake, boil or stir fry your food in very little oil.
  • Eat regular meals starting with breakfast. Try not to skip meals.
  • Avoid snacking while reading, studying or watching television.
  • Take smaller servings and chew your food slowly

Good Health, Great Looks And Confidence ! Let your pal/ dear one know how much they can gain from dieting.

There are diet therapies that help reducing extra weight and the first rule implies reducing calories moderately is essential to achieve a slow but steady weight loss, which is also important for maintenance of weight loss. Cut down on fatty foods and eat more bread, fruit and vegetables. Two main types of dietary therapy are a low calorie diet (800–1500 kcal daily), and a very low calorie diet (less than 800 kcal of energy daily), which usually consists of a protein-enriched liquid. Energy consumption must be reduced. High calorie/low volume foods should be avoided and replaced with an increase in complex carbohydrates (such as whole grain foods) and an increase in fruit and vegetables.

Very low calorie diets are not prudent in children and they are not effective. Eating 300 to 500 calories less per day, may lead to losing between one and two pounds per week. Having a glass of water instead of juice, eating less lunch than usual and having smaller portions of the food of your choice are ways to reduce calorific intake without having to necessarily modify your diet significantly. Avoid a second helping at dinner and snacks between meals, which may have become a habit. Cut down on beer and alcohol. All these things will influence your health in a positive way.

Health, Happiness And Success ! A warm message to wish your friends/ loved ones.

Obesity may develop due to countless reasons and among them, they key cause is over-eating, that is, intake of excess calories. Often people forget to check the calories contained in the food they are having and later on has to go for unpleasing diet against their choice. Obesity doesn’t develop overnight. It is a long process and takes quite a fair amount of years to get hitched with the problem. When someone lives on high calorie or more fat containing food for year after year, he or she is bound to gain weight which would appear in their body. Fat might hit at any area in your body; it can be your liver, bones and glands. And this internal obese is way too harmful than external one. The fat containing in these foods delivers excess energy which is stored in the body cells in the form of fat and sugar and gives the individual the outward appearance of being overweight.

Apart from over-eating, there are other factors too that invites obesity. These are as follows:

- Inactive or Sedentary lifestyle
- A high glycemic diet. Such as a diet that consists of meals that give high postprandial
blood sugar
- Weight cycling, caused by repeated attempts to lose weight by dieting
- Underlying illness such as hypothyroidism
- Genetic disorders
- Eating disorders such as binge eating disorder
- Stressful mentality
- Insufficient sleep
- Certain medications such as atypical antipsychotic
- Smoking cessation
- Genetic factors

The most prevalent age for obesity is the middle age but obesity can also occur at any age depending on the consumption of the factors mentioned above. In many developing countries, obesity prevails in wealthy families whereas in the developed countries, obesity occurs mostly in lower socio-economic groups. You can also get victimized to obesity for hereditary factors. Obesity tends to run in some families and therefore the later generations are attacked by it.

Another most important cause of obesity for women is their pregnancy. It commonly occurs in women at the beginning of their puberty or menopause. Abnormal influence or imbalance can be one of the causes of obesity. The use of steroids, oral contraceptives and insulin is commonly followed by weight gain. These are some of the most important factors that cause obesity at any point of life.

Obesity is a condition in which the natural energy reserve, stored in the fatty tissue of humans and other mammals, is increased to a point where it is associated with certain health conditions or increased mortality. Obesity is both an individual clinical condition and is increasingly viewed as a serious public health problem. Excessive body weight has been shown to predispose to various diseases, particularly cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus type 2, sleep apnea and osteoarthritis.

The tendency towards obesity is by two bad habits; one is lack of physical activity, laziness and the other one is consumption of high calorie and low-cost foods. But there are ways to beat obesity or to prevent it from affecting you at the initial stage itself. Here are some Ayurvedic food guidelines to prevent obesity:

1. Maintain a balanced and intelligent diet chart and avoid getting obsessed with any particular food item especially if that contains more of calories or fat.

2. A good amount of moong and masoor pulses should be included in your diet regime to treat obesity.

3. It is mandatory to avoid sweets, salty or oily foods and curd especially at night for people suffering from obesity. Instead, buttermilk is a better option and it contains less of fat and more of protein. Warm water is quite beneficial for fighting obesity.

4. Some Ayurvedic stuffs like Guduchi, Triphala or Musta should be taken mixed with honey. Takrarishta is also advisable. Triphala churna is best advisable at bedtime.

5. Another useful thing that would help you beat obesity is Bruhat Panchamoola powder mixed with honey. Amla powder also works wonder on curbing obesity.
